The Double Ninth Festival
With the development of economy, many traditional festivals have gone out of people’ mind, such as “The Double Ninth Festival”. In my opinion, each traditional festival symbols a special characteristic of Chinese culture, particularly, the customs and habits of our ancestors which the people in modern society can not imagine.
When come to The Double Ninth Festival, words and picture of autumn, chrysanthemum(菊花), pastries and puddings, climbing mountain, many friends getting together to drink with the many flowers on head in the autumn cool wind under in the clear air and glorious sunshine will present in your mind. To me it is really a beautiful festival make us review the pastoral life( 田园生活)，quiet and peaceful, pure friendship and light-hearted.
The double-ninth festival originated from the Han dynasty or Warring States Period, I am not sure of that, at beginning, its extensive in puxian area, Fujian province for ascending the mountain to memorize the ancestors, especially memorizing Mazu, as Double-Ninth is her death anniversary. They hope they will bless them. But after 1989, The Double Ninth Festival has been set as “Old Man day” in the purpose of enriching the festival’s meaning. When the festival arriving, the local area will organize the old people to ascent the mountain or attend autumn tour for widening sight, exchanging feeling, keeping fitting, bringing people return to the nature.
Anyhow, I suggest the one who saw this article to relax yourself from the noisy world and ascent the nearest mountain, enjoy yourself, remember that life is used to enjoy!
