Xiamen issues travel permits for Kinmen

厦设立赴金旅游证件制证点

经公安部出入境管理局批准，从８月２０日起，福建省公安厅出入境管理部门正式委托厦门市公安局出入境管理处，为大陆赴金门旅游的申请人制作《大陆居民往来台湾通行证》。今后前往金门旅游的大陆居民申请赴金门证件，无须送福建省公安厅审批，在厦门就可直接办理完结。厦门制证点的设立缩短了大陆居民赴金门旅游的办证时间.

With the approval of the Ministry of Public Security, on August 20, the Fujian Provincial Department of Public Security authorized the Xiamen Municipal Public Security Bureau to issue travel permits to eligible mainland visitors traveling to Kinmen. This means that Xiamen will acquire the responsibility for reviewing and approving mainland residents’ applications for travel to Kinmen, which will streamline the permit application process.

两岸200名专家福州研讨城乡交通

第十五届海峡两岸都市交通学术研讨会２５日在福州开幕。包括９６名台湾代表在内的两岸２００余名交通工程界专家学者，围绕“城乡综合交通一体化”主题进行研讨交流。此次研讨会研讨范围从市区交通、区域交通延伸到城乡综合交通，研讨的内容从客流拓展到物流，解决的方案从传统工程措施、数字交通信息化发展到绿色交通、智能交通。

On August 25, the 15th Cross-Strait Urban Transportation Symposium opened in Fuzhou, attracting more than 200 experts and scholars, including 96 from Taiwan. Themed around the promotion of integrated urban and rural transportation, the symposium has expanded its topics to also include logistics, eco-transportation and intelligent transportation. Previously, topics were restricted to urban transportation, regional transportation, market development, conventional engineering and digital information networks.

鼓浪屿举办美国音乐公开赛

第十六届美国音乐公开赛中国赛区的比赛8月25日—26日在中央音乐学院鼓浪屿钢琴学校举行，这也是美国音乐公开赛第一次在中国内地举行选拔赛。这次比赛在全国设有200多个赛区，福建赛区的比赛由钢琴学校主办。经过激烈角逐，全国各赛区的优胜者将于10月在中央音乐学院鼓浪屿钢琴学校进行中国赛区决赛，胜出者还将代表中国到美国参加全球总决赛。

The China leg of the 16th American Music Open Championships took place at the Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music on August 25 and 26, marking the first time the competition has held qualifying matches in a Chinese mainland city. For the matches, China was divided into more than 200 areas, with the qualifying matches for Fujian held at the Piano School. Finalists from throughout China will compete in October at the Piano School. Winners will represent China in the global finals in the U.S.

“两岸青年联欢节”在厦闭幕

8月２３日晚，第二届“两岸青年联欢节”在福建省厦门市落下帷幕。 ３０００多名两岸青年参加了“海峡风·中华情”闭幕式的联欢晚会。本次联欢节以“两岸青年欢聚神州，携手共创美好明天”为主题，７月１０日在北京开幕，分北京－河北、江苏－上海、浙江、广东－海南、福建５条线路，共邀请台湾青年２６００多人来大陆开展交流，近万名两岸青年参与。

On the evening of August 23, the 2nd Cross-Strait Youth Festival concluded in Xiamen, with more than 3,000 young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait joining the “Breeze over the Strait, Bond of China” closing ceremony party. The festival, with the theme of “joining hands to build a better future,” opened in Beijing on July 10 and encompassed five areas: Beijing-Hebei, Jiangsu-Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangdong-Hainan and Fujian, involving nearly 10,000 young people, including over 2,600 from Taiwan.

厦将建三大风力发电场

厦门即将建设三大风力发电场，预计总规划装机容量１４．９万千瓦，气象部门目前已着手开展风电场选址规划咨询。风力发电场初步选址规划方案为：厦门内厝风电场，装机容量０．９万千瓦；翔安莲河风电场，装机容量４万千瓦；大嶝岛海上风电场，装机容量１０万千瓦。

Xiamen plans to build three wind power stations with a combined installed capacity of 149,000 kilowatts. Preliminary site selection has been concluded and zoning is in progress. The three power stations will be located at Neicuo, Lianhe of Xiang’an, and Dadeng Island, with an installed capacity of 9,000kW, 40,000kW, and 100,000kW, respectively.
