11.Building Schedules On-the-Fly Via Stacked Cases – Improvements have been made in the tables that summarize the schedule table values for those tables that are being built on the fly at user option. During the building phase, there is a new table that is printed at the conclusion of each case involved in the building. The title of this table is “BUILT SCHEDULE NUMBER NN TABLE OF VALUES AT TERMINATION OF CURRENT CASE”. Once the run reaches the case after building is complete and use of the schedule is available, this table is no longer printed. Instead, the standard output of schedule tables includes any that have been built. The new table is printed in a columnar format that can be copied and pasted easily into a spread sheet or into the schedule forms of the MMI for subsequent runs.

12.Optimization Feature Improvement – A new option is available for defining the convergence criterion for the optimization feature. In addition to the existing fractional criterion, a new absolute value criterion has been provided. The absolute value criterion is needed when the optimum value of the objective function is known to be zero. Note that a fractional criterion would demand a zero-width tolerance band to attain an acceptable answer. In other words the PEPSE y value result would have to be exactly zero in order to be called converged. The new absolute criterion is selected by placing a minus prefix on the existing convergence criterion, input variable OPCVCR. To repeat, to take advantage of this criterion, you need to know that the optimum value of the objective function is zero.

13.Triple Mixer (Type 54 component) – The connection of the IC port for the triple mixer is optional now. This flexibility will make it easier, while building a new model to anticipate that additional connections may be made later.

14.Controls – The total number of controls allowed in a model has been increased from 50 to 99. This increase will be useful for applications where PEPSE′s results are being tuned to emulate the results of measurements in the plant. In such cases, there are typically large numbers of measurement points to be matched. Note that, because of conflicts with existing input line ID′s, there is a new “series” of lines used for those control specifications between 51 and 99. The effect of this will be noticeable only when examining the .job file or the echo of the input data that appears as the lead item in the .out file.
